MOWC is looking for skilled volunteer photographers to get amazing photos of participants and their pets, as well as volunteers, participants, and staff, on the United Way Day of Caring.
Come and have breakfast with us from 9:30 to 10:30, then trail volunteers as they deliver meals on the Day of Caring, stopping at the homes of participants with pets to visit and get photos with their furry companions. We are fortunate to be a part of so many great stories each day and would love to have great photos to go with the stories.
Every volunteer gets a swag bag with a t-shirt, lanyard, bumper sticker, some program literature, and a snack for the road.
Please dress appropriately for the weather. You will need to drive your own car or ride with someone in your group. Every volunteer is expected to fill out a volunteer application, release of liability waiver, and photo release.
Our volunteers report that delivering meals, performing safety checks, and connecting with seniors in our community is a rewarding and fulfilling experience. 39% of MOW Chesapeake participants would see no one for a week or more if it weren't for their delivery volunteer, and 97% look forward to seeing their volunteer each day.
Note for teams and groups: when registering, only register your team once, and indicate how many total people are on your team, as well as how many drivers you will have. The size of your vehicle(s) and team should help you determine how many drivers you will need. If you are unsure of how to register, reach out to mealsonwheelschesapeake@gmail.com or call 757-312-6458 for further assistance.
