Who We Are
We are a youth organization that teaches and instills a lifetime of skills and values into fun and educational activities.
What We Do
The mission of Scouting America is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law.
Founded in 1911, the Tidewater Council is the fifth-oldest Scouting America council in the country. We serve the cities of Norfolk, Virginia Beach, Portsmouth, and Chesapeake in Virginia and the counties of Camden, Chowan, Currituck, Dare, Pasquotank, Gates, and Perquimans in North Carolina. We also maintain the Pipsico Scout Reservation on the banks of the James River near Surry, Virginia. We are a youth organization that teaches and instills a lifetime of skills and values into fun and educational activities.
