Who We Are

Founded in 1908, YWCA South Hampton Roads has a long and proud history of serving our community. We work across racial, gender, religious, and social lines, partnering with organizations in all sectors to advocate for meaningful change, educate our community, and provide resources to help dismantle oppressive systems.

Over the years, we have grown from a trusted direct service provider for women and families in crisis to a dynamic organization at the intersection of eliminating racism, empowering women, and championing social justice. We remain dedicated to helping families thrive and strengthening our community for generations to come

What We Do

We offer services such as advocacy, counseling, crisis housing, and other things related servicing victims of intimate partner violence, sexual violence, and human trafficking. We also strive to empower women, eliminate racism and promote justice for all.
