THE Y. FOR A BETTER US. Everyone knows the Y as a place to camp, swim, or exercise, but we’re so much more. A 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, we’re working side-by-side with our neighbors to address critical community needs that help kids develop into smart, resilient adults, for people to improve their health and build a sense of community, and for our most vulnerable young people to get the care and support they need. Our mission is to put Judeo-Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind and body for all. With that and our cause of strengthening community, we're here to make coastal Virginia and northeastern North Carolina a better place to live.

Understanding the many factors that makeup and influence a person’s individuality, the Y on Granby provides this support through the following: ~Support the academic achievement and holistic development of school-age children through the Tutoring, Recreation, Afterschool Club for Kids (T.R.A.C.K.) Before and After- School program at James Monroe Elementary ~Provide a transformative Summer Camp Minnesota experience, preventing summer learning loss, encouraging creative thinking and building character skills that can be utilized in their everyday lives ~Cultivate and develop new skills with safety around water and swimming for our youth so that they can enjoy the pleasures of swimming with family and friends. ~Create life-changing experiences by sending local kids to the YMCA to participate in our sports programs with sponsorships
