Children's Harbor Early Care & Education Programs

We are a non-profit agency that has been in operation since 1911. We also run a highly impactful community training department, distribute emergency tuition assistance funds, and support family day homes through the CACFP program. We operate four (4) early child care centers in Norfolk, Chesapeake, Portsmouth and Suffolk. We have a staff size of approximately 85, including 12 corporate staff members.

Children's Harbor provides quality, developmentally appropriate early care/education in four centers, year-round for children ages 6 weeks to 12 years. We provide places and programs for children and families across Southampton Roads.  Our agency also hosts a Community Training and Professional Development department serving ECE programs all over SHR. The same department administers an emergency tuition assistance program for families in crisis. We also operate the USDA Child/Adult Care Food Program for Family Day Homes across SHR. The agency has been in operation since 1911 and has become a hub in the ECE industry for quality early care resources, support and services. The full service training department is unique to the area and has been developing and facilitating professional development opportunities to SHR's ECE providers since 1974. We provide places and programs for children across Southampton Roads. Our primary focus is offering quality early childhood education for families with children between the ages of 6 weeks and 12 years old. We also operate a full community training department, an emergency tuition voucher fund, and a USDA-Child and Adult Care Food Program for Family Home Providers.
